Just another page...

... of my little boy when he was still a wee one and happy to sit in one spot (mostly) and observe the world from there. This page came together by accident. I had made one for a friend of mine and liked it so much that I ended up replacing a few elements and the picture, and using it for myself as well as for her. I just love the bright orange background! I am actually using the same background for another page for last years summer album. I just have a little bit more fine tuning to do on it before I can publish, so check back soon. Plus we have some REALLY exciting news...! Have fun!

With all the rain...

... that falls in the great Northwest come the beautiful forests with all their mosses and ferns and all things green. As much as I hate how much it rains here, I love the mossy forests just as much. This is what we have been up to last weekend. This lake is open for swimming in the summer, but I already love it for the trail that goes around it and for the rustic campsites they have available up on the campground that is next to the lake. Evan had a lot of fun walking along the trail that goes around the entire lake. It was pretty challenging for him with all the roots and rocks sticking out of the ground. He made it his mission to find the biggest rocks he could manage to carry and then drop them into the lake as soon as he found a spot that was to his liking. As for me, I was just happy being out and about on a sunny day!

Osterhase -

... one of Evan´s first and favorite words. It means Easter Bunny in German. He sounds so very cute when he says it too! This year we had our first Easter egg hunt with Evan. He had a blast! And even after he had gone on three different Easter egg hunts on Easter Sunday, he still asked for more when the day was done. It is such a joy to watch him enjoy himself so much. Here is a layout I made about Evan´s Easter egg hunt at home. Polaroid frame template from Heather Ann's Quick Fill Page Sets. Alphas are from Shabby Princess´ Spring Breeze Kit and Shabby Mommy Kit, as well as Dani Mogstads Birthday Bash Kit. Background Paper is from the Spring Breeze Kit. Tag is from Miss Mints Craft Jar Kit. I plan on making a layout from his second Easter egg hunt with his great-great-grandma as well so check back soon. Have a great day!

Just like ...

... he loved his little Puky Wutsch, he now loves his Puky walking bike! He wants to go on walks with it all the time! At this point he is so fast that we have to run to keep up with him. He also loves to lift his feet off the ground whenever he can, and he does it so well! I can never get enough watching him do that. It just amazes me so much that he can keep his balance like that. The other day on the way to target we walked by an elementary school just as everybody was getting on the buses. He loves school buses, so we let him watch for a while. While we were crossing the school grounds all the little kids where pointing at him, saying something along the lines of "Wow, look at him. He doesn't even have training wheels, but he is so little!", or "Look, only two wheels and no training wheels!". Charles and I couldn't help but smile at each other. We totally understand their amazement because we feel the exact same way. We were already astonished enough when he managed to ride the walking bike with no problems, but to see him lift his feet off the ground just leaves us without words.
Here is a layout I made from one of the many walks we go on at the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail. That day we also sat down and watched a bunch of frogs that were right next to the trail. On some of the pictures you see Charles and Evan telling me to shush, so that the frogs would come back out - just in case you were wondering if he was picking his nose or saying shhh. Have fun everyone!
