Little black kitty...

This was a first for Evan! Halloween, that is! We thought that he should be a cat for Halloween, and when I found this awesome costume at leaps and bounds, I knew it would be perfect. Evan loved the costume from the start. He loves cats, therefore dressing up as one could only mean fun for him.

Charles didn't get off work until almost 6PM on Halloween, and since it was getting cold and dark by then, we decided to take Evan to only a few houses around our neighborhood. At first he was a bit confused about what exactly it was that we were doing. But after the first people put candy into his pumpkin bag, he had no doubts left in his mind. He walked from door to door as if he had been doing this on a regular basis. To my biggest surprise he did not insist on eating the candy as soon as he got it. He was content to wait until we were back home.

I´d say all in all his first Trick-or-Treating has been a success. He only got scared once when the person opening the door was wearing a big scary looking mask. Otherwise he had only good experiences. Plus he saw many cats along the way, something that never fails to bring a smile to his face. And after we were done we even let him eat some of his candy. He chose a lolly pop, and since this kept him from eating any other candy, he kept giving a lot of it to Charles and me. He is so good at sharing!!

I hate taking pictures using a flash, so I don´t have any pictures of the actual trick-or-treating. However, I did get him dressed up in his costume after his nap for the sole purpose of taking some photos (and of course to have fun). He had a blast playing in the leaves. He spent the whole afternoon filling his pumpkin bucket with leaves and then taking them to the little bridge by the managers office where he would dump them into the water.

There are more pictures to come, I just didn't have the time to work on them yet. Plus, we went to the pumpkin patch last Saturday, and his great-aunt Carmen's house on Sunday. I took pictures at both occasions and definitely want to share. Have fun everyone!
